I joined the board in 2020, with the intention of maintaining and increasing the Advanced Placement Classes available to students, but putting more emphasis on job skills for the students who do not attend college. Nationwide only about 25% of U.S. students graduate with a bachelor’s degree. While Tecumseh does a fantastic job of preparing students for college, we need to increase our emphasis on the majority of our students and prepare them for the job market that does not require the financial commitment of college. Jobs in technology, building trades, book keeping, HVAC, day care, and auto repair.  We need to improve curriculum for those programs and support this district’s families the best we can.
